Girls to Code is a flagship programme jointly conducted by Women in Tech Maldives and Dhiraagu.
Through hands-on training, mentorship and project-based learning, participants strengthen their technical knowledge, creativity, problem-solving skills and confidence. The programme encourages more girls and young women to pursue STEM education, recognise their potential and consider rewarding careers in technology.
More than 100 girls and young women have participated in Girls to Code across the Maldives.

Programme at a glance
How the programme works
Coding and AI Bootcamp
A three-day, in-person bootcamp in B. Eydhafushi introducing coding, web development, AI tools and digital product development through beginner-friendly activities.
Online Learning and Mentorship
Participants continue through online sessions, mentorship and guided project-development activities, receiving support and feedback as they build their skills.
Digital Project Development
Participants identify a problem or opportunity, plan a solution, build it and improve it as they apply what they learn.
Final Project Presentation
At the end of the seven-week programme, participants present their projects and share what they have learned and created.
What participants will explore
Participants will use AI as a tool to support learning and development while continuing to think critically, make informed decisions and understand the work they create.
