JOALI Maldives has provided financial assistance to support Women in tech Maldives' efforts to empower women. JOALI Maldives is a passionate supporter of environmental conservation, community engagement and women empowerment. The funds were raised as part of a collaborative art project by JOALI Maldives.
In addition to Women in Tech Maldives, financial assistance was also handed over to two organizations working in the Maldives, Olive Ridley Project and Zero Waste Maldives, to protect the environment and increase community participation.
The donation was handed over to the representatives from NGO by the JOALI Maldives team, together with General Manager, Enver Arslan at a small gathering at the resort. Co-Founder of Women in Tech Maldives, Fathmath Neesha received the donation on behalf of Women in Tech Maldives.
During the gathering Enver highlighted the important work the organizations do in the Maldives, especially during such challenging times and thanked the donors. " We thank our guests and hosts for their generous donations to support the organizations to continue in their mission to make our communities a great place to live, and to sustain our ecosystems for future generations to come. Together we are making a difference!".
The selected NGOs will be utilizing the funds for the following projects
Women in Tech Maldives - Working to inspire, empower and celebrate women in science and technology and teach school students coding skills.
Olive Ridley Project - Protecting sea turtles and their inhabitants in Raa Atoll through rescue and rehabilitation, scientific research, education and out reach.'
Zero Waster Maldives - Reducing the amount to fabric waste that ends up in landfill by rescuing clothes that can be used second hand or upcycled.
